Where lived experience strengthens professional care

Prevent the Flare with Care

LIVED- EXPERIENCE- INFORMED EDUCATION FOR HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS

Prevent the Flare with Care is the education and systems-learning framework of Colon Coach, designed specifically for NHS services, hospitals, pharmacies, and healthcare organisations working within gastroenterology and autoimmune care.

The framework translates real-world experience of Crohn’s disease and IBD into structured, governance-safe education that strengthens communication, improves pathway understanding, and reduces avoidable escalation.

Our programmes explore the full spectrum of IBD care — from the psychological impact at diagnosis and concerns around biologic therapies, to procedural anxiety, surgical recovery, and the long-term realities of living with an incurable condition. We focus on the often-overlooked factors — mental health strain, social and employment pressures, trauma, and communication gaps — that significantly influence engagement, adherence, and outcomes.

Delivered through recorded learning, live interactive training, or fully customised partnerships, Prevent the Flare with Care supports healthcare teams to work with greater clarity, confidence, and consistency — always complementing clinical care, never replacing it.

An estimated £150 million is lost annually due to non-adherence to biologic medicines across the autoimmune community (NIHR)

Alongside increasing emergency admissions. Severe mental health crisis & a lack of discreet, confidential advice

Our methods will ensure healthcare professionals deliver clear, timely information with prevention and safeguarding at its core..
